Our session with Jamie and Chris had to be rescheduled because of rain and we were lucky this time around to have a day full of sunshine! We headed to Burnsville to get some shots in our favorite little complex, Grande Market Square (Troy and I actually took our engagement pics and some wedding pics there, too). We got a lot of great, silly shots of this wonderful couple. The Vikings jerseys were a lot of fun, too! Jamie and I used to work together so it was fun to spend sometime with her since we don't see each other that often anymore. Enjoy!
Annie and Adam are some of our best friends which made this session especially fun. They are comfortable around us already, so we were able to capture a lot of genuine emotion from the two of them. The session started at Adam's parent's house which had a lot of great landscaping. Their dogs, Kobe and Roxy, were there too. During the first part of the session they were not involved in the pictures so they sat and watched us from behind the trees (see picture below). I love the looks on their faces. They so badly wanted to be included! When it was their turn, we ventured to a park in Burnsville where we got some great "family" shots. We had a great time, Adam and Annie! Thanks for letting us be a part of this wonderful time in your lives.
The King wedding brought Troy and I to Dawson, Minnesota. We headed there the night before to make sure that we wouldn't miss anything! Saturday was a beautiful day. The sun was shining and there were hardly any clouds. Jessica and Kevin were a ton of fun, as was their wedding party. They were great sports even in the sultry June weather. Once the ceremony was over we made a few stops with the wedding party, one of which included a bar literally in a corn field. Troy and I had a blast! Thank you Jessica and Kevin for including us in your special day. Below are some of the highlights. The first picture is my favorite! Such great expressions. Enjoy!
Troy and I had a blast with Becky and Allen! We were blessed with a beautiful morning and Becky and Allen picked a great spot. We ventured to a park in Bloomington that was full of great places to photograph. The four of us explored most of the park and had a great time. Becky and Allen have a wonderful sense of humor–we spent a lot of time laughing! Take a peek at some of the beautiful shots we got.
Let the engagement/wedding season begin! Kristin and Neil were officially our first engagement session of the 2009 season. I was a little nervous in the morning because it started out chilly and rainy with a ton of cloud cover. Luckily by our session time the clouds had rolled away and it turned out to be a gorgeous afternoon. The session took place at our favorite park in Prior Lake. Take a peek at some of my favorite shots from our session.
Meet our nephew, Alexander Michael! What a cutie he is! Alex was born on March 24 and in the following photos he was about 4 weeks old. I can't believe how much he has grown already—he doesn't even look like the same baby. He looks so much like his daddy now. During his session, little Alex was not very happy, but you would never know by the great shots we got! He wasn't a fan of his sweater vest outfit. His mom Jenny and I tried so hard to get him to stop crying. I guess all we needed to do was take his clothes off because then he was happy as a clam! When he was born Troy and I showed up at the hospital with a big stuffed lion to go in his jungle themed nursery, so we had to get a few shots of him with the lion to see the size comparison. He is so tiny! I am sure we will have another photo session sometime this summer or fall so stay tuned. Welcome to the family baby Alex!
Gia Fink was a joy to photograph! It took a little bit for her to get warmed up to the idea of Troy and I photographing her—for the first portion of her session she pretty much stood in one place and looked at us like we were nuts! But once she got into the swing of things she was all smiles and we couldn't get her to stand still! At one point during the session she figured out that she could lay back and support herself on the backdrop. She thought this was hilarious. Gia LOVES bouncy balls so we played a lot with those and tossed around balloons. These portraits were for her first birthday so we, of course, did some cake shots where she just got to tear into the cake. She was a little apprehensive about this and needed a little guidance from Mom. What a cute little girl! Take a peek below at some of my favorite shots from this session.
